Wedding of the Decade

I've been to some pretty awesome weddings in my time with of course the most awesome being my very own. :) However, this wedding/reception was very high on the scale of awesomeness because of  the simple fact I never thought I would see the day that Matthew Gant got married.  He has quite the history of being a huge player and was Council Grove's most eligible bachelor, until he met Traci. I'm not sure what it was about her but he obviously met his match when he met her. They are a perfect fit!
Ryan and I have known Matthew for many years and in our college years we spent many nights being entertained by Matthew and his brothers. Matthew is always the life of the party wherever he goes.
At the wedding and reception there was standing room only, until the elderly people decided they couldn't hang and left. There was all the booze you could drink, coozies for everyone, four different caterers serving a variety of food, dancing until one of my toes turned black and blue, and a very entertaining photo booth with props. I'm sure Matthew and Traci will greatly appreciate seeing my mug a dozen times in the photo booth album.
Us, before we changed into comfy clothes for the reception

My BFF, Kelli, looking all prim and proper (this must have been before the 12 beers).

Just a sample of the booze, there were six bartenders that had trouble keeping up with all the drinkers.

My niece busted with a beer, or maybe she was just holding her Aunt Jen's beer. :)

Ryan deep in conversation with one of his long time CG buddies.

A home town tradition, dancing to Big Balls in Cow Town.

These two lovely ladies enjoyed using my camera when I wasn't around. (The one on the right is Ryan's long-time girlfriend from jr. high/high school.) She is a hoot!

The beautiful bride and groom dancing the last song of the night.

We had a great time, and partied like rockstars until they kicked us all out at midnight. It was so much fun catching up with "old" friends. It was like a CGHS reunion. Now we will just have to wait until Joshua Gant "Chachi" gets married for another big bash. But for now he is the reigning most eligible bachelor of Council Grove!

Skinny Jeans

I have to admit I'm not a fan of the new fad, skinny jeans, but I think Madelyn looks so dang cute in them. If  only, I could look so "skinny" in skinny jeans.

Race for the Cure

Today I completed another 5K. I have completed a number of 5Ks with my PR (personal record) being under 27 minutes. Unfortunately this time I came in at 28:30. I was disappointed with my time but mostly I was so happy to be able to see my sisters-in-law, Shelly and Jen, complete their first 5ks.
Making my way to the finsh line

Shelly making her way to the finish line.

Jen giving a thumbs up as she makes her way to the finish line.

Me and my fabulous sisters-in-law, Shelly and Jen.

Waiting for a table at I-Hop, Madelyn and Ryan are my two best cheerleaders!

Angela (my friend and running partner), me, Shelly, Jen & Shannon (Jen's friend from Manhattan).

While the Cat is Away.....

THE MICE WILL PLAY!!! And they did indeed!

I was off work on Friday since I had to work at a resource fair all day on Saturday. When I came into my office on Monday, this is what I found:

72 balloons (I was told), paper holes and monthly billing all over my office floor.

Saran wrap on EVERYTHING!!!

sticky notes (I loved the one on my ESU diploma)
I also discovered an open, nasty smelling bag of tuna and I'm still searching for the can of sardines. I had it coming to me because I'm notorious for putting smelly cans of tuna and sardines in my staffs' offices.

It was all in good fun, but let me just say this is only the beginning because it is GAME ON!!!

For Hire

She is a great worker and pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.
