She Turned 9 on May Twenty Nine.
Madelyn had three parties to celebrate turning nine! Apparently turning nine is kind of a big deal or she is just well loved. She chose a movie theme for her friend birthday party. She invited all her classemantes and a few other friends to her party. Thankfully her daddy was kind enough to let us use the highschool auditorium for the move night. Once kids arrrive they had cake, she opened presents and then they all quietly intently watched the movie Jack and Jill. Thankfully parents arrived soon after the movie and all but three little girls headed home. The three girls and Madelyn had a slumber party at Ryan's house. I went over the next morning to see the girls off and to help clean up.
Madelyn and I then headed to Council Grove lake where weroughed it camped in my parents air conditioned camper for a couple nights and clebrated her birthday with my family. She then had the Muhlig family birthday party at the Council Grove Pizza Hut. She is a much loved nine year old!

Life
I have been quite the blogger slacker in recent months, apparently life got in the way. I hope to catch up in the near future with pictures from Madelyn's birthday, our adventure at ElDorado lake, softball and our move to a new house.

Warrior Dash 2012
My friend, Angelia, and I completed the Warrior Dash back in May. It was my second Warrior Dash and Angelia's first. We left Augusta at the crack of dawn, arrived in KC, took the bus to the destination and had plenty of time for the 10:00am start. However, I was so worried about making sure Angelia grabbed her KS ID that I unintentionally grabbed my debit card, not my ID, which meant no packet pick up. We took a bus ride back to my car, exchanged my debit card for my ID, and rode the bus back to the race. By the time we arrived and got checked in we had to join the 11:00am racers. This year the obstacles (12) were some what tougher but the course was easier. At one water obstacle I assisted a lady that could not swim, and at all obstacles I yelled at Angelia that there would be no going around and she was going to do every one of them or she wouldn't get her t-shirt. And for her it is all about the t-shirt. Of course I was only yelling with my encouraging voice not my mean voice, well she may have a different opinion of such things, but this is my blog so her opinion doesn't count.
I finished 15 minutes slower than last year but only because I was trying to earn my good samaritan badge by helping that lady swim and I wasn't about to leave Angelia because she may cheat. :)
After a long shower to clean up all the mud in places mud should never be and nice long nap we met some friends and enjoyed a night out the Power & Lights district.
We had a fun time and are looking forward to completing it again next year.

Climbing the cargo net
Racing Angelia to the fire pit.
Can't this small pic to delete so you see it twice.
My fav part....the mud pit! Princess Angelia was disgusted by this but went through like a trooper.

Mother/Daughter 5k
I'm going to back track the next few posts so I can get myself and everyone (all three of you) caught up to speed. Earlier this month Madelyn trained and completed her first 5k. It was a mother/daughter 5K so I got the opportunity to run along with her as did many other moms and daughters. The most she ran during training was just a little over two miles and that was with a couple stops and plenty of complaining so I was a little concerned on how she would do. But my girl pulled through. She ran the entire race, except for two water stations where I told her to walk through while getting a drink. When she saw the finish line in sight she asked if I would let her beat me and took off in a dead spring. I couldn't have catched her if I tried. I was so proud of her for completing her first 5K and finishing strong. I hope this is one of many races she and I run together.

Madelyn's Softball Schedule
Her games are highlighted in pink. She is skipping the first two games to celebrate her birthday and to spend time with her grandparents in Council Grove but it is game on afterwards.
