Working Mom
I believe that being a mom is work 24/7, whether she stays at home or is employed outside the home. I work outside the home for financial reasons, but even if I had the financial resources to stay home I would likely still work outside the home. I am one of those people that require adult interaction and have a desire to be outside the home. I feel like I am a better mom because I work outside the home. I know many people will argue this fact but anyone that knows me would likely agree that it is best that I work outside the home. I have complete admiration for moms that are able to stay at home with their kids. Staying home would likely send me to an insane asylum.
Working full-time at a job that is 30 miles from home and being a divorced mom has its challenges but thankfully I am blessed that Madelyn has an amazing dad that is truly a co-parent in every sense of the word. I am grateful for him.
I adore my daughter and love her more than any person in the entire world and because I work outside the home does not mean I love or adore her any less. It just means I know my limits. :)

Where We've Been
A vocal concert.....where Madelyn is the tallest kid in the class and on the back row with mostly boys.
Basketball...Basketball..and more Basketball. She has practice twice a week and games every Saturday until mid March. The team struggles and has yet to win a game. Madelyn has made a basket or two almost every game and usually has several fouls. She fouled out once, then the coach learned that sitting her out a bit during the game will prevent that. She's a scrappy thing.

#4 - one of the youngest, but the tallest on the team.
My camera is not the best so action shots are hard to come by.
...And hanging with the Harlem Globetrotters. What an awesome show they put on. Madelyn loved it!!! Of course she had to have a Harlem Globetrotters ball and then after the game we stood in line for two autographs, one from the only white boy on the team, Hops, and one from the tallest guy on the team, Stretch.
She sat in awe most of the game.
Always full of tricks
Big Easy playing pranks on the audience.
Holding her ball up as high as she could so Stretch would autograph.
A very tall Stretch
GNO with Angelia and Hollee Slusser

5 Seconds of Fame
Today I had a meeting in downtown Wichita and parked in the parking garage as I usually do. I had to park on the third level because it was almost full. As I walked towards the stairs to make my way to the meeting I observed a lady being interviewed by Deb Farris from KAKE news. They were right in front of the stairs I needed to go down. I stepped back and made sure I was out of sight of the camera. When the interview was over I started toward the stairs when Deb Farris stopped me and asked if I had heard what they were talking about. Which I had not. She explained that cars were being broken into in the parking garage and asked if she could ask me a couple of questions. She caught me completely off guard so before I could say "No hablo ingles" I was being interviewed. I was a frazzled mess and thankfully they edited most of it out before it was aired on 6:00 o'clock news. You can go here to check out my 5 seconds of fame. I'm providing autographs by request.

New Years Eve
This year Madelyn (and her friend Hallie) and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Select in Andover. Although only about 10 miles from our house I knew the girls would enjoy swimming in the indoor pool. Once we arrived the girls went for a swim then we got around and went to Church and then to the Alley for dinner. We arrived back at the hotel and the girls spent more time in the pool until they decided a trip to Braums for ice cream was needed. Then the girls played make over and watched TV. We brought the New Year in around 9:00pm with sparkling grape juice, and 2012 head bands and sunglasses. Madelyn was the first to fall asleep shortly after 9:00pm and Hallie soon followed. I didn't even attempt to see the New Year come in fell asleep before 11:00pm.
The girls had a good time and I enjoyed being entertained by them.
