Christmas 2011

Christmas for my family was different than years past but different doesn't always mean bad. Madelyn didn't miss a beat and had a great Christmas which was our ultimate goal. Christmas eve morning she spent with Ryan and his family at Nana and Papa Muhligs' house and Christmas eve eve she spent with me and my family at Nana and PawPaw Sills' house. After the festivities she and I traveled back to our house in great anticipation for Santa's arrival. Madelyn woke up at 1:40am and discovered that Santa had already arrived, however her mama insisted she go back to bed until no earlier than 6:00am. At straight up 6:00am she was jumping on my bed begging me to get up. As promised I got out of bed and called Ryan so he could come watch her open all her gifts. Once he arrived she ripped through all her gifts in a matter of minutes. After opening gifts we had breakfast, her daddy went home, and then she and I hung out until noon. At noon we went over to Ryan's house and the gift opening commenced. Ryan fixed us a yummy lunch I hung out for a bit and then headed back to my house. Madelyn enjoyed the afternoon with her dad and I went for a run and hung out at home until Madelyn called later and asked me to come over and watch a movie. Although the dynamic of our family has changed we still spent our Christmas as a family. It just looks a little different than previous years but for now it works for us.

Here are just a few pics of the Christmas festivities:

A mean game of dominos and Aubrey is practicing her inner pirate?
Building with dominos, rather than playing the game.
Silly PawPaw

"Baby it's cold outside (and inside)."
Miss Aub and her sock monkey.
The one time we are not actually fighting. :)
She still manages to help others open their gifts.
Madelyn adores her uncle Terry, they've been freinds for a long time. :)
Annual teddy bears. Love this girly group!
The two that are responsible for us. Love them.
 Christmas morning loot

Finally can get rid of her old school TV.
Not sure why Santa thought she needed a ton of play make-up.
